An Unmarked Lee Pewter Taster Porringer
This 2 1/4" pewter taster porringer is attributed to the shop of the Richard Lee's who were active in the late 18th century through the early 19th century.
The Sr. Lee worked in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Vermont. The younger Lee worked only in Springfield, Vermont.
The Lee's produced a fairly wide variety of porringers. It is believed that many of their handle molds were carved from soapstone which was readily available from the quarries in Perkinsville, VT just up the road. from Springfield.
This porringer is nearly mint.
