A Pennsylvania Tab Handle Porringer from the Kirk Mold - SOLD
A Fine Pennsylvania Tab Handle Porringer from the mold of Eliza Kirk. Kirk worked in York Pennsylvania from 1780-1790. Marked examples of these porringers are as scarce as hen’s teeth.
This porringer is in very fine condition with some minor blemishes on the inside bottom of the bowl. All the lathe marks show clearly both on the inside and outside of the bowl. The lathe finishing marks show both on the face and back of the handle (the ear) of the porringer.
It has been years since we have had any Pennsylvania tab handle porringers in a condition that we would want to offer to our collectors. Amazingly this is the third Pennsylvania tab handle porringer we have acquired this year in fine condition.
The bowl of this tab-handle porringer measures 5 3/8” in diameter and the overall length is 7 1/8” long.
