A Flower Handled Porringer by Samuel E. Hamlin - SOLD
Samuel Ely Hamlin followed his father's footsteps and became a most able pewterer. The quality of his workmanship is every bit the same high standard as his father established.
He worked in Providence, RI from 1801-56. This 5 1/4" porringer is an example of his quality work.
Both Hamlins produced finely finished pewter pieces. The lathe work is finely turned beautifully finished.
The handle design is very balanced and proportionately designed to accommodate the size of the bowl.
In absolutely near mint condition with a strongly struck touchmark, a fine example that cannot be improved upon.
