A Fine Large Flower Handle Porringer by Gershom Jones - SOLD

A fine large flower handled porringer by Gershom Jones of Providence, Rhode Island 1774-1809. The porringer exhibits broad turning markings on the inside of the bowl in the trough as well as on the back. The linen mark is very large indicating the metal used to pour the handle was quite hot and formed a wide bond with the bowl. The bowl measure 5 3/8” in diameter.

The mint touch is struck slightly off center on the face of the handle, which has been planished.

This is a very attractive large porringer by a desirable later 18th century Rhode Island Pewterer. Reasonably priced
