A Large Old English Handle Pewter Porringer by Samuel Danforth
This 5" Old English Handle Porringer is made in a Mold that Bassett apparently left in Hartford after he returned to NYC.
The Handle for this porringer was first used by Cornelius Bradford and originally had initials on the back of the bracket CB. Those initials were pounded out leaving a bump on the back of the bracket.
This porringer is a very fine example of a New York type porringer made in Connecticut. Samuel Danforth worked from around 1795-1816.
In fine condition metal and mark.
Price: $1450
