An Unmarked Pewter Slop Bowl - SOLD
An unmarked American pewter waste or slop bowl. These were found with tea sets in the 2nd quarter of the 19th century and were designed to hold the dregs (used tea leaves) from a previously brewed pot. This piece incorporates a cast base with a spun sheet metal top. Likely produced by the Meriden Britannia Co. dating 1840’s-50’s. This piece measures 4 3/8” tall with a bowl diameter of 4 7/8”. In fine condition.
