A Very Fine Pear Form Pewter Teapot by Eben Smith
Eben Smith worked in Beverly, Massachusetts from 1814-1856 in the same building as Israel Trask, another Beverly, pewterer, and it is most interesting that the store front is still there.
This is the finest condition pear form Eben Smith we have ever had. The exterior has a very few blemishes. The front of the spout has a few minor dents.
The interior surface shows all of the lathe turning marks clearly. There is a casting defect on the bottom, that is "telescoped" into the interior surface.
A truly fine example by this man and in a condition that it would be hard to find one better.
The teapot measures 7 1/2" tall to the top of the finial.
Price: $950
