A Scarce Pewter Basin by Stephen Barnes of Middletown

Stephen Barnes pewter basin. Barnes is believed to have worked in Middletown, Connecticut from c-1798 to 1810. Little is known about Barnes and his production.
Barnes likely trained with William Danforth in Middletown. It is important to note that William Danforth produced basins of this same size.

This basin is in fine condition with a good plus touch in the inside center of the bowl. Lathe marks are present on the back of the bowl. A very scarce Middletown pewter item. The basin measures 7 13/16”
