A Single Reed Rim Plate by Richard Austin - SOLD

7 7/8” pewter plate by Richard Austin. Austin worked in Boston from 1792-1817. His lamb and dove touch is modeled after English touches of the period. There is a strong resemblance to the Lamb and Dove touch of Townsend & Compton.

This plate is in fine condition with fine touches. There are die struck cameo initials on the rim. Cameo initial die struck initials are rarely seen in New England they are far more prevalent on plates found in Pennsylvania.
