A Civil War .36 Caliber Pistol Cartridge Box - SOLD

This Civil War .36 Caliber Pistol Cartridge Box is in very fine condition and appears to be unissued. This caliber cartridge was used in what collectors call Navy Revolvers.

The bridle leather retains its smooth finish and all stitching is sound and solid. The closure tab does show some wear which is typical from people opening and closing the tab over the stud at the bottom of the box. As a student of this equipment I recommend that collectors leave the tab unclosed. This prevents undue wear and potential breakage. The box measures approximately 6 3/8” wide and 4 3/8” tall. A very nice example of a Civil War Pistol Cartridge Box.
