A Quart Export Pewter Tankard by Nathaniel Barber - SOLD
This quart tankard was made by Nathaniel Barber. He worked in London from 1777-1810 and was a successor to William Fasson. He also made broth bowls, beakers and other forms.
This tankard has an open chair back thumbpiece and double āCā scroll handle. The metal is in very good plus condition and the touch is nearly fine and clearly struck on the inside bottom of the tankard. There is a WR Crowned mark to the left of the handle. Some of the lathe marks still show clearly on the exterior of the body.
A nice example of a later 18th century pewter Export Tankard. 7 3/8ā tall to top of thumbpiece.
