An Export Pewter Gill Bud Baluster Measure by Unknown Maker

English Export Gill bud baluster pewter measure. This measure would likely date from 1725-60’s. It is marked with touch number 2517 on the Pewter Society Database. The touch is a thistle with the initials W and either an H or an N. This has not been assigned to a specific maker.

The measure is 4 5/16” tall to the top of the thumbpiece. To the top of the lip 3 5/16” with a base diameter of 2 3/16”. The measure is in fine condition and the touch is fine “as struck”. Marked Bud Baluster Measures are fairly scarce. This is the first example by this maker I have ever acquired.
