Export Pewter Teapot by Hale
This teapot is marked "Hale" and is either by Hale & Sons, Bristol, England 1778-1782 or by Richard and Thomas Hale, Bristol, England 1783-1815, it is believed that several of the "Hale" touchmarks were used by both.
This teapot likely dates from the late 18th century as it still employs the use of a wood handle.
The teapot holds 24 fluid ounces. These were listed in period inventories as pint and 1/2 teapots.
This pot is in fine condition retaining it's original wood handle. The finial button has been restored. The touchmark is perfectly struck.
The height to the top of the finial is 6 1/2"
