An 18th Century English Export Pewter Pear Form Teapot
An attractive 18th century English Export Pewter Pear Form Teapot circa 1740-70 marked with a crowned X on the outside bottom. It is most certainly a product of London and where someone to find the “X” mark in association with a known maker it would clearly identify that pewterer as the maker of this piece.
The teapot has an old but not original handle and the wood button is a replacement I made to match the characteristics of the handle. The teapot is in good condition with some pitting on the inside surface.
A very attractive form with a banded lid and body typical of mid 18th century pear form teapots. The pot measures 5 5/8” tall to top of finial. Very reasonably priced
Price: $765
